Laser Trackers are a portable, real- time contact measurement system that uses laser technology to accurately measure large parts and machinery across a wide range of industrial applications. The system measures 3-D coordinates with its laser by following a mirrored spherical probe (SMR). With high-accuracy angular encoders and XtremeADM (Absolute Distance Measurement), it reports the 3-D position of a probe in real-time. Laser trackers are used to align large parts, assemblies and machinery and to perform detailed inspections, either on-site or in-process.The Faro Laser Tracker X has a 70m range and a point measurement accuracy of up to 0.025mm. This equipment is available for hire to competent users.
